Shandur a meadow which turns into a city of tents

 

Shandur is a lush green meadow located near Funder valley of Gilgit Baltistan it is home to the highest polo ground in the world. Shandur Polo festival is held in the month of July when this meadow hosts thousands of people who enjoy a time of their life. Polo being the favorite game of the locals is enjoyed tremendously. The view of ice cap mountains and a very beautiful blue water lake makes it the even more eye pleasing.

Many teams participate in the compitition, but the riverly between team of Chitral and team Gilgit is what puts in an overwalming energy into the fastivel. Thousends of people come from all around the world to vitness a spectacular event. Special gusts and movie stars puts another jen into the crown this festivel is. 

The festivel is celebreted to the fullest as you can see in the picture the famus sword dance is being presented. People dance all day on the beats of local drums and bless their ears from the sounds of the local flute.
