Fairy Meadows: Heaven on Earth

Since the pandemic situation is now under control in Pakistan, and the population is being vaccinated, you can now plan your vacations! Gilgit Baltistan is known for its scenic beauty so there’s no better place for vacations. It houses a number of tourist attractions like Hunza, Nagar, Skardu, and Naltar. It also houses one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan, the Fairy Meadows, that sounds special just from its name.

Fairy Meadows is located near one of the base camps of Nanga Parbat, also known as the Killer Mountain. It is a lush green grassland, and a true beauty of nature. Fairy meadows is also called “Heaven on Earth” because its beauty is matchless. The journey for Fairy Meadows starts from Raikot. You can reach Raikot via the Karakoram Highway.

From Raikot, you can take jeeps. It is a 15 km track from Raikot to Tattu village, from where the trek for Fairy Meadows starts. This jeep track is considered to be the second-deadliest road on the planet. After you reach Tattu village, it about a 3- or 4-hours hike to the Fairy Meadows. However, this hike and effort is totally worth the view that awaits once you reach the Fairy Meadows.

You can visit the Fairy Meadows from April till September. Camping site is available here for overnight stay with a view of the breath-taking Nanga Parbat with its snow-capped peaks.
