Are you
wondering where to go for vacations once the pandemic situation gets better?
There is no better choice than the Northern areas of Pakistan, like Naran,
where you can go to spend some quality time with family or friends and explore
the natural beauty that refreshes your eyes and soul.
Located in
the upper Kaghan Valley in the Manshera district of KPK, Naran is surrounded by
the beautiful mountains of the lower Himalayan range. It attracts a lot of
tourists in the summer due to its pleasant weather. Once there, you would not
want to come back. Before we discuss things to do in Naran, let’s talk about
the journey.
The scenic views in the journey start from Balakot, where the river Kunhar runs by the side of the road. There are many hotels and restaurants on the roadside here where you can enjoy good food along with a great view and the sounds of the rushing river. The river Kunhar runs along the side of the road all the way to Naran which adds even more beauty to the already breath-taking scenes of the mountains.
The next
stop in the journey is Kiwai, where people usually stop to have lunch. The
restaurants here have their seating area in the Kiwai waterfall so people can
soak their feet in the cold water while eating their food.
From Kiwai,
people can take jeeps to visit Siri Paye and Shogran. It is about a half hour
jeep ride to Shogran and a further one-and-a-half-hour ride to Siri Paye.
However, this whole jeep ride is worth it because the views from Siri Paye and
Shogran will definitely take your breath away.
After this
pleasant journey, you reach the Naran bazar. Here you will find different
hotels for your stay, a variety of restaurants, and many other shops for
clothes and accessories. Soups, desi food, fast food; all are available at the
restaurants in Naran. Jeeps are also available here that can take you to Lake
Saif ul Malook, the main attraction of Naran.
Named after
an Egyptian Prince, Lake Saif ul Malook is considered to be the highest lake of
Pakistan. This lake also has a fairy tale attached to it. The lake provides a
view of Malika Parbat on one side, with its snow-capped peak. You can enjoy
different activities here like boating, horse riding, and people here have
stalls selling different snacks. The trek for ansoo lake also starts from this
area and it takes about nine hours.
There are a
few other attractions ahead of Naran so stay tuned for the next blog to find
out which ones!
