Kargah Buddah is a 1300 year old carving of Buddah in The Mountains of Gilgit. it is located just 8 kilometers away of Gilgit city. It overlooks an entire vally making the spot perfect for taking pictures.The place today has been converted into a tourist spot where friends and family can go to enjoy a good time near the "kargah nala" which is a cold water strem running down the center of the vally. The place is important to the people of Gilgit becouse it tells about the history of the reagion as the reagion was for long under the influence of buddhism. The reagion has the most famus silk rute passing through it which was the road that connected europ to the subcontinent therefor the reagion has been influenced by armeys that have been marched through. These armys destroyed everything that came in their way but this carving has been a little too mush for them to destroy hence it has today become the place for people to visit and wonder about the times it was created and centuries that have gone by after that. The government of Gilgit Baltistan has now conserved the site and a development program has begun which will convert it to a long park with a staircase leading up to it. This program has completed its initial stages and since the area is now open for the tourist to visit and look at the wonder and realize the influence Buddah had on the people of his time. Finnely i would recomand everyone to visit Kargah Buddah whenever you find yourself to be in the Glgit city. I can garentee you will be lost in deep thoughts once you look at it as the control on thoughts and to live in the movement is what Buddah tought us.
