Islamabad — World’s Second Most Beautiful Capital


Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan is an indescribable city. Its panoramic views are out of this world which cannot be expressed using words. It’s located on the Northern Edge of Potohar Plateau and at the foot of Margalla Hills. It covers an area of 906 sq. km having a population of approximately 1 million. 

Despite being in the hustle and bustle of the Political Environment, The Capital of Pakistan, Islamabad is the number one city of Pakistan with respect to its beautiful Greenery, Cleanliness, Safety, Peacefulness, Quiet, and Calmness.

It is a must-visit place for those who love to travel, to eat, to play sports, to hike, to shop, peacefulness and like being alone. In a nutshell, it is a Heaven on Earth and a city for everyone.

We all know about the Hospitality of the Pakistani people, their cultures, traditions, customs, ambitions, practices, and much more. Islamabad is the most important and the safest city of Pakistan consists of all these cultures, traditions, practices, etc. When these amazing customs mix up with the beauty of Islamabad, it outmatches all other cities. This is what makes Islamabad the World’s Second Most Beautiful Capital.

Talking about Tourism, it has many amazing places to visit. Many tourists and travelers had, have, and will visit this amazing creature of beauty. Its everything is on point, and just ideal for everyone. There are many tourist attraction places in Islamabad. Some of them are listed below:


SHAH FAISAL MASJID

Shah Faisal Mosque is a must-visit place for most of tourists. Its architectural design and symmetrical beauty have attracted many people’s attention.

It has gained much importance since the day it has been constructed. Having a capacity of 300,000 worshippers and beautiful cold floored tiles are the reason for its importance.

It provides an amazing view for travelers as this majestic art lies in the vicinity of Margalla Hills.

Non-Muslim tourists are also allowed to enter this Masjid without disobeying the rules and regulations, which attracts a lot of them.

If we talk about its unique architectural design, we can see that it outlasts all the other Masjids in the World just because of its own pyramidical/triangular tomb and 4 pencil-type minarets.

MARGALLA HILLS – HIKING

Tourists who are fond of Hiking and doing adventurous things love this place. Margalla Hills are the wonderful mountains that give a fabulous view. The mountains in the background of everything make Islamabad look greener and closer to nature. 

These have eight trail ways in them which offer an adventurous hike, leading to the top of the mountains. Some of these lead to the beautiful water springs. These trails are named Trails #1,2,3,4, 5, and 6. The remaining two tracks are named; the Saidpur trail, and Bari Imam Trail.

DAMAN-E-KOH & PIR SOHAWA

In the Margalla Hills, there are many scenic beauties like Daman-E-Koh and Pir- Sohawa which provide a picturesque view of the whole Islamabad specially at night. People who love to like loneliness or want to get a time for themselves can go up there and rearrange their life while enjoying the beauty of nature. It is a calm and quiet place with an amazing view.

In the neighborhood of these places, there are many eateries which attract tourists and food lovers. People like to visit these hills mainly due to the Monal Restaurant, Highland Resort and the La Montana Restaurant as the view from up there is breathtaking.

Many tourists visit these places with their families as well and enjoy their time.

DAMS       

Furthermore, in Islamabad, there are some Dams. Visitors come to enjoy the soft and gentle whispers of water at the Lake View Park.  It is a family place where visitors come for a picnic on a holiday to enjoy a meal in the lovely weather.  Shahdara Valley, Rawal Dam/Lake View Park, and Simli Dam are one of the major tourist attraction places in Islamabad. Khanpur Dam is also included in the near vicinity of Islamabad.

SHAKARPARIAN

Shakarparian is a beautiful hill located near Zero Point Interchange in Islamabad. It has an amusement park in its boundary. There is Pakistan Monument and a Pakistan Monument Museum situated in Shakarparian which is worth visiting. Moreover, Shakarparian also has a National Park where many people visit. An amazing thing regarding this park is that it beholds the trees planted by many famous Political leaders (Presidents, Prime Ministers etc. of different countries)

There are also museums, like The Museum of National History and Lok Virsa situated nearby as well which themselves are attractive tourist spots.


PAKISTAN MONUMENT

There is no mentioning of Shakarparian without Pakistan Monument. Pakistan Monument is a symbol of fine art, crafted, traditional and hard work. It reflects the history of many events and historic personalities of Pakistan. It shows their struggles and glorifies their sacrifice. It reflects their aspirations and hard work for building a peaceful, harmonized, free/independent and noble nation.
